Ballet

MacKenzie Lehner is delighted to be joining the BSOBAD team this year! She is returning to Canada after teaching in Dubai, UAE where she got the opportunity to work with teachers and students from around the world staging classics and setting original works, while also preparing the Graded and Vocational students for their RAD Ballet Examinations. She coached for international dance competitions and also had the privilege of working with her students for their performances at the Dubai Opera Theatre. She was also the choreographer for one of the main theatre companies in the city!

MacKenzie received her training from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division, Boston Ballet, and was a full-tuition scholarship graduate of The Harid Conservatory. She is a graduate of the CBTS Teaching Diploma with the Royal Academy of Dance in London, UK and a fully certified PBT Teacher. She has coached her students for YAGP International Ballet Competitions and has won multiple choreographer awards over her years of dance competitions. She has taught all styles of dance throughout Canada and is beyond excited to be working with the amazingly-talented team and students at Brenda’s.

She has toured as “Clara” in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, performed in various musicals such as: Peter Pan in “Peter Pan, “Babette” in Beauty and the Beast, “Hot Box Girl” in Guys and Dolls, “Yvette” in Clue, and various principal roles in “…But It’s a Dry Cold”.

MacKenzie performed in the music video “Crazy Fool” and was the lead dancer and choreographer, and also co-created a special project for “Savage: A Musical” based out of New York City. She is the founder of “Create for Care”, a non-profit organization designed to creatively help those in need.
