Kids Dance Classes In Saskatoon

Children are introduced to the world of dance and can learn a range of dance and baton styles at Brenda’s School of Baton and Dance (aka BSOBAD). We look forward to welcoming your child to our positive and fun-filled environment. Take a look at the classes on offer below.

Tiny Tots – Age 3

Is your little one excited to dance? Always dancing around the house? Or maybe you can’t wait to see your tiny one dance?

Our Tiny Tot program has developed over the years to be one of the best introductory classes to dance, body awareness, creativity and music! This program is under the direction of Miss Cara, who grew up dancing in all genres at the studio and is a mom to three little ones. She has trained her teaching team through years of experience to provide the most imaginative story lines, as well as age-appropriate dance techniques.

Your Tiny Tot will receive training in creative dance, ballet, jazz, tumbling and body awareness. We also invite our Tiny Tots to learn a special routine performed at our annual BSOBAD recital on May 24th, 2025!

Saturdays 9:00 – 9:30 am
or 
Wednesdays 9:30 – 10:00 am

Combo 1 – Age 4

Our Combination 1 dance program is recommended for pre-school children who are 4 years of age. Tap, Ballet, Jazz & Tumbling are explored in one dynamite class! Combo 1 provides an excellent foundation for further training in all areas of dance. Our students are immersed in music, concept storylines, imagination and creativity while learning dance techniques that lead into our structured RAD Ballet, ADAPT Jazz, CDTA Tap and Acrobatic Arts programs.

For our 2024-2025 season, we are offering our families three class time options for Combo 1:

Saturdays 9:30 – 10:10 am
or 
Tuesdays 4:00 – 4:40 pm
or 
Wednesdays 10:00 – 10:40 am  

Price: $57.00/month

Does your dancer want to dance more than one day per week? Feel free to join two or all three of our Combo 1 classes! 

Combo 2 – Age 5

The Combination 2 dance program is specially designed for the active 5-year-old. Combo 2 consists of Ballet, Tap and Jazz techniques. 

For our 2024-2025 season, we are offering our families two class time options for Combo 2:

Saturdays 10:45 – 11:30 am
or 
Tuesdays 5:10 – 5:55 pm

Combo 1 & 2 Class Add-Ons

Combo 1/2 Acro 

Our Combo 1 &2 dancers are also eligible to begin our Pre-School Acrobatic Arts program (Acro). This 30-minute class helps your dancer develop a strong, agile and flexible body along with skills in body awareness and control. 

With no recital routine or costume required, this dynamic class is the perfect addition for your little one! We’ve conveniently scheduled our Combo 1/2 Acro classes directly before or after your dancer’s Combo class.

Saturdays 10:10 – 11:40 am
or 
Tuesdays 4:40 – 5:10 pm

Twinkle Twirl 

Welcome to the Wonderful World of BATON! Join the sport that started it all over 40 years ago. Our Twinkle Twirl class introduces your little one to the basics of baton twirling in this 30-minute add-on. Like Combo 1/2 Acro, our Twinkle Twirl class has no recital routine or costume required. 

2024 – 2025 Twinkle Twirl class times: 

Saturdays 11:30 – 12:00 am

Intro Classes – Age 6

Love Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics and/or Baton Twirling?!

Being 6 is so much fun! We highly recommend that our dancers begin their training in a 40 minute once/week ballet program. From the foundation of ballet you may participate in any of our packaged programs of:

• Ballet: Ballet is a foundational discipline that provides posture, grace, coordination, strength and flexibility.
• Tap: Tap your feet to the rhythm of the beat (Musical students love this class!) Based on CDTA syllabus.
• Jazz: Movement with grace, agility, strength and flexibility to fun age-appropriate music. Based on ADAPT syllabus.
• Hip Hop: Strong street dance movement; feel the rhythm with age-appropriate music.
• Acro: Great training in strength, flexibility, and tumbling following the Acrobatic Arts programming.
• Baton Twirling Join the sport of baton twirling; featuring the challenge of hand-eye coordination utilizing dance and acro movement with the silver stick!

Our 2024-2025 Intro classes are offered on Saturdays or during the week allowing your family to choose days that work best for you!

• Intro Ballet: Saturdays 9:00 – 9:40 am or Thursdays 4:00 – 4:40 pm
• Intro Acro: Saturdays 9:40 – 10:20 am or Thursdays 4:40 – 5:20 pm 
• Intro Jazz: Saturdays 10:30 – 11:10 am or Mondays 4:00 – 4:40 pm 
• Intro Hip-Hop: Saturdays 11:10 – 11:50 am or Mondays 4:40 – 5:20 pm 
• Intro Tap: Saturdays 11:50 – 12:30 am or Mondays 5:20 – 6:00 pm 
• Intro Baton: Thursdays 5:20 – 6:00 pm
